Ben Wilson, D.V.M.

Veterinarian
Practice owner Dr. Ben Wilson joined the Monterey Animal Hospital team in 1999, two years after completing his degree in veterinary medicine at UC Davis. There, he met his wife, Dr. Shannon Thomas, owner of the local Avian and Exotic Clinic located in the Stone Creek Village Shopping Center in Del Rey Oaks. They reside in Watsonville with their twin sons Thomas and Reed, along with their two Golden Retrievers (Cody and Butter), two cats (Alex and Jerry), two horses (Faux and Mr. Sandman), donkey (Milton Burro) and several reptiles and birds.

Crystal Chung, D.V.M.

Veterinarian
Dr. Crystal Chung studied Biochemistry as an undergraduate at UC Davis and graduated with her degree in veterinary medicine from the same institution. She joined Monterey Animal Hospital immediately after graduation. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she now lives on the Monterey Peninsula with Sherman, an inquisitive and loving feline.

Lannis Enriques, D.V.M.

Veterinarian

Dr. Lannis Enriques earned her veterinary degree from Colorado State University. She then completed a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Sacramento Animal Medical Group. She has been practicing in the Monterey Bay Area since 2006. She joined Monterey Animal Hospital in 2018. Born and raised in Hawaii, she now enjoys exploring the California outdoors with her husband and three kids. She also shares her home with two rambunctious cats (Hook and T) and two mischievous dogs (Clover and Moose).

Karen Fenstermaker, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Karen Fenstermaker graduated from Iowa State in 1985 and has been practicing small animal medicine on the Monterey Peninsula since 1996. In her free time, she can be found biking, hiking, photographing wild flowers, and hanging out with her family which includes four dogs and two cats.

Carla Mulder, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Carla Mulder earned her veterinary degree from UC Davis in 2003 and has practiced in the Monterey Bay Area for the last 20 years. She enjoys spending her free time exploring and hiking national parks with her family, cooking, reading, and keeping the peace between her overly jealous dog Josh and spoiled cat Neville.

Kristi Maxberry

Practice Manager

Kristi has been in the veterinary field for almost 25 years. From fixing sinks and computers to lending a friendly ear and a helpful hand, she keeps the hospital humming. Her loves include counting down to Christmas, all things Disney and spending time with her family and her cats, Rex and Traya.

Thomasina Cristobal RVT

Head Registered Veterinary Technician
Thomasina was born and raised on the Monterey Peninsula. She began working at Monterey Animal Hospital while in high school. She has been with our practice over 19 years. She and her husband live with Penny, a pug mix and Orko, a cat with the soul of a canine.
